Who is Ronnie?

Anybody who has loved and lost a four legged friend will understand how heartbreaking it is when they are no longer with us.  Some animals may touch our hearts more than others and leave a whole bigger than others….Ronnie left a whole the size of a crater!  Why? because he was Ronnie….

The most wonderful, fun, vibrant, hilarious, loving, needy, ignorant member of our family, he made us laugh & laugh each and every single day.   Anybody who has had the pleasure of owning an English Bull Terrier will understanding many of those behaviors.

Born deaf in one ear, Ronnie used it to his full advantage as an excuse not to hear you when he was sunning himself in the garden in the bright sunshine turning his very pink skin an unhealthy shade of red or, when he was making a run for it across a ploughed farmers field whist out on a walk when he had spotted humans over the other side who obviously needed to be leapt on by a crazy, excited and over friendly English Bull Terrier.

Such a character, Ronnie was very much a celebrity in our local village and his walks always took longer than they should having stopping to say hello to anybody that we happened to pass by, whether they wanted to say hello back to Ronnie or not!  And let’s not forget the houses that we absolutely couldn’t pass because Ronnie knew there were tasty treats waiting for him inside.

In 2020, at only 8 years old Ronnie became very poorly and although at first the diagnosis was Pneumonia it very quickly escalated and we were given the devastating news that Ronnie had severe cancer build up in his throat and that vets recommendation was not to wake him from his peaceful sleep following the scan.

Our lives were shattered and there is not a single day goes by that we don’t miss our beautiful boy….
